Q&A: More Compatability Stories

My previous post on compatbility between Groove v3 (also known as groove virtual office) and Groove 2007 created a few questions about other compatibility issues.

#1
Q: Can I use Groove 2007 with Office 2003?
A: Yes, Groove 2007 works just fine with Office 2003. There are all sorts of great reasons to upgrade to Office 2007, but if you aren't quite ready for that, you can still get Groove working.

Q: Is Groove 2007 compatbile with Groove v3 Management and Relay? Is Groove v3 compatible with Groove 2007 Manager and Relay?
A: Yes, you can mix and match the client version and the server version. Two things to note: there are policies that you can set on the 2007 servers that aren't recognized byt eh v3 client (for example, file type restrictions). The v3 client will simply ignore the speicifc policies that are new in 2007. Likewise, you can only set the new policies (such as file type restriction) with the 2007 server.
