UAG client components tracing options

If you would like to enable tracing for UAG client side to trace end point detection components bit in case of any problem then here are the options you need to enable on UAG and IAG update 3:

Browse to \Program Files\Microsoft Forefront UAG\EndPoint Components\3.1.0Run trace.hta

Scroll to the bottom of the window. If it says ‘Logging is currently ON’ then click ‘Stop’

Add ticks to all the tickboxes (Error Warn, Info, Func & Noise) for these components:

· CompMgr_BASE

· Detector_BASE

· Security_CheckSite

· SoftToken

· TCPDump

· VistaUtils

· SSLVPN_BASE

· IPC_BASE

· LSP_BASE

· NSP_BASE

Scroll to the bottom of the window and click ‘Go’

Reproduce the problem

Click ‘Stop’ in trace.hta

Send the Forefront_UAG.bin file from c:\windows\debug\ to CSS for troubleshooting.

 

NOTE: some times due to UAC on Win 7 you might need to launch Trace.hta through elevated cmd under local admin context.
