I can get my decktop to open and restore is not working and Im going crezy

  9. Stu Landrum says:

I just tried the Fix It routine, but it stopped before completing the fix.  The only message was that the error had not been fixed. Other than that, my choices were to go to this blog or to provide some feedback via email. I like the idea of the Fix It logic, but little help is offered when the fix fails.

Thanks  i AM REALLY LIKIN TH FIX IT

  11. Ar. Thena says:

Good.  I am happy to note such solutions are available. Ar. Thena

  12. leslie says:

i have no way to know if it got fixed or not

  13. Preston says:

Doesn’t this delete the manual channel configurations, too?  I have to manually map over 50 clear QAM channels to guide data (which slows down the more channels you do, and gets worse over time as this DB begins to get corrupted)

How about instead of deleting the DB eHome fixes it for real? :(

  14. Ami S says:

The "fix it" button was easy, just not sure if the error is fixed.

  15. walter mathis says:

I like this because i would rather have you fix then have me mess it up more

  16. Andy says:

This is the first time I used [fix it] and it seems to leave me out there without knowing more of the needed steps to correct the problem.  I don’t know yet if the problem is corrected or not.  I’m always one for more detailed step by step instructions instead of click a few buttons and walk down an unknown path to nowhere.

  17. david says:

This auto fix should be  a standard tool for Vista, which has  many faults and defects and is very unstable.  I have Vista certified machine running Vista Ultimate that came from the OEM with ultimate pre-installed that is so unreliable I kept my older XP machine that I had intended to replace.

  18. PeterDavid Brown says:

As per other post, I’ve applied the fix it button but there is no report/splash screen etc to say the fix has been successful.

In defence of Vista Ultimate, I don’t find it particularly unstable – there are a few things that could be better/different but that’s true with most things in life – anyone ever own a car that never had anything wrong with it?

    Keep up the good work!

Frecuentemente hay mensaje que internet no esta trabajando

  20. JEANNIE says:

THANK YOU FOR THIS OPTION, FIX IT IS A MUCH BETTER TOOL THEN ME TRYING TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM, FIX IT GIVES ME THE OPTION TO FIX IT MYSELF OR HAVE IT FIXED WITHOUT THE TIME AS WELL AS THE FACT I MAY JUST MAKE THE PROBLEM EVEN WORSE FIXING IT MYSELF

  21. brandy says:

how do i get rid of or complete an exception that keeps me from staying in my email?  please help me

  22. Jim says:

I certainly like the idea of an automated fix. I’ve had to fix my norton several times and i get worried that i will mess it up somehow and cause my computer to crash. my only suggestion would be a self check or a note that the problem has been fixed rather than just a box that says the probram has been run. thanks for the simplicity! Jim

  23. Jim says:

I just tried to open the windows media center after running the ‘fix’. I got the following error. ‘Unable to launch symaddln’. Do i want to disable. What do I do to fix this problem?  Jim

  24. David Hallmark says:

I followed the elementary steps in the "You fix it" option. It ran a brief program and kinda/sorta gave action completed information. I guess I’ll find out by the performance of the programs.

    Thanks, I think,

    David Hallmark.

  25. Pam says:

I ran the fix and it took care of the problem, but I have to run it again every time I reboot.  Is there a permanent fix?

  26. Jennifer says:

Not exactly sure what I "fixed" but hope it works!

  27. michelle says:

i just used fix it for the first time. it seems to make things easier if it works. jut a random question ot two though… why do you only thank the people who say this is a good thing? since all comments (good and bad) are designed to make things better isn’t it a better idea to thank everyone who is giving you feed back rather than only those saying good things about fix it?

  28. Ron says:

It’ didn’t work. I don’t know what else to do…

  29. Brandon says:

I just ran the fix it and it still comes up with the following message when i try to start up media center:

    "Media Center has stopped working

A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

What else can i do to repair this?  If anyone has a suggestion, email me at steinbd@hotmail.com

    Thanks!

  30. James Preece says:

  35. Peggy Simpson says:

Like others, I don’t know what or how the problem came about, but I too hope it is fixed.

  37. marion says:

I have had this problem several times I hope it is working properly now.

  38. Kerry says:

Ran the file successfully. Was able to open Media Center, but could not interact with it. Immediate crash of Media Center.

Problem still here. Got a smokin’ laptop, the ULTIMATE 64 Bit Vista OS and it simply does not function. Media Center icon is just a tease. Program no longer functional.

  39. Kerry again - since email button is useless says:

Went to provide feedback about the problem using the button that popped up after running Fix It. Obviously not meant to work with the legions of web based email programs that most people use. I would figure that making it EASY to send email would be a good way to make sure you get feedback if you wanted it in the first place. Popping open Outlook, a program I don’t use, is pretty useless. Can’t even see what the address is so I can send the email myself via left click or hovering.

Endless frustration with MS. Logging Blue Screen of Death daily and browser/OS crashes frequently as well. Sometime I wish I actually liked Macs.

  40. mark markovich says:

I also am not sure what I fixed. Media player is working fine.

  41. katrix9 says:

is still too early to know if the proble was fixed or not…ask me later

  42. sojournerwolf says:

Seems like the only thing on this blog that the "Fix it" team is responding to is when someone gives a compliment.  For those having trouble with the fix, they are remaining ominously silent.

  43. Hermitage says:

Thanks for the ‘Fix-It’ tool. Only one suggestion, have it show some kind of results/confirmation screen so that users can tell it was successful.

    Enjoying my Dell! 😎

  44. Andrew says:

it did absolutely nothing to fix anything.

  45. Mr. Andy Dominguez says:

I like the link – Mr fix-it.  I appreciate the process to provide for us a solution to fix problems, making it easier to us all.  I am not sure that it was fixed though, usually something pops up that says it was completed or fixed, it just left you hanging.

  46. Wenderson Silva says:

    Did not work.

    Windows Ultimate – 64 bits

    8 GB Ram

TV Recorded TVR – 32 bits ( driver ) compatible with 64 bits

  56. Neil W says:

Curious.  I have windows 7 home premium. Everyhing in my documentation tells me I should have the ability to watch internet TV via my version of media center.

I’ve tried every fix thus far, followed all the setup tips etc, yet I do not have the option except to setup for a tv tuner card.

I also cannot find this .db file anywhere in the above fix’s location.  Any tips?

  57. Scott says:

Allow for XP or else direct us to an article telling us how to fix manually
