Introducing: Exchange 2010 Tested Solutions
Published Jan 12 2011 06:52 PM 2,706 Views

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce a new initiative that the Exchange Team has been working on. Exchange Tested Solutions 2010 is a joint venture between Microsoft and participating server, storage, and network partners that examines common customer scenarios and the key design decision points facing customers planning to deploy Exchange 2010. Through a series of solution whitepapers we provide examples of well designed, cost effective Exchange 2010 solutions deployed on the latest hardware solutions offered by our server, storage, and network partners. The solutions chosen represent both physical and virtual exchange deployments. The solutions also include a large variety of storage options current available for Exchange today, including SANs, DAS, and internal disk configurations.

The whitepapers produced in Exchange 2010 Tested Solutions are not your typical Exchange whitepapers. We understand that designing an Exchange environment can be a complex and difficult task. A single design methodology may not work for all solutions and one poor design decision can have a large impact on subsequent design decisions. Therefore, we have included a detailed solution design section that provides a step by step methodology to approaching solution design in Exchange 2010. Each common design decision point is explored in the context of the customer's specific requirements, the previous design decision points that have been made, and the best practices from Microsoft and our partners. We also understand that validating your Exchange design can be a complex and difficult task. Therefore, we have included a solution validation section that walks through how to approach design validation and then provides the actual tested results from our validation exercise.

The whitepapers can be found at: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=208143

The first 3 papers have been posted. Please check back as the remainder of the papers will be posted over the next month.
