Ramon B. Infante’s Bio


Ramon B. Infante serves as Unified Communication Technical Community Director for Worldwide Services at Microsoft, focusing on Unified Communications Technologies in the Microsoft Product space which include Microsoft Exchange Server and Microsoft Office Communications Server.  As the Technical Community Director Ray is responsible for the enterprise service strategy in the Unified Communications area. Ray acts the Technical leader for the Unified Communications Consulting organization, ensuring technical excellence across the entire business solution cycle. Driving technical process and major design reviews, Infante champions technical approaches and methods that reduce risk and assure high quality on-time delivery, while keeping the technical community fresh and on the leading edge. In addition, Ray drives frequent, measurable and high quality product feedback to the appropriate product groups.


 


The Technical Communities play a vital role supporting Microsoft Worldwide Services both strategically and operationally. On the strategic end of the spectrum, the Technical Communities determines the organization’s technical strategy, setting product and technology direction. On the operational end, the Technical Communities  drives technical readiness and delivery excellence in the field.


Prior to his current role, Ray played a part in the Microsoft Consulting Services Organization as an Architectural Consultant focused on Enterprise Customers in the Financial Services Market and worked with specific Fortune 500 customers outside that industry vertical.  In addition to consulting services Ray worked as an Enterprise Strategy consultant working with HP and Other Key Microsoft Partners assisting them with their MSFT Product Services Strategy.


 


Infante has also worked closely with IT departments both internally and with customers. Working with MSIT in the development of Service Offerings around SLA’s and Desired Configuration Management for the internal Messaging Team. When he joined Microsoft in 1996, Infante was part of the Deployment Team that assisted with Exchange Deployments at Merrill Lynch and Citigroup for Microsoft Consulting Services where.


 


Prior to joining Microsoft in 1996, Infante worked for Citigroup. Where he as a Vice President in the IT organization architecting and developing a vairtey of Application Systems (including email and communication systems) as well as working on major systems consolidation projects with data center migration projects including Retail Branch systems and backend Datacenter transaction systems.


 


Collectively, he has more than 22 years of experience in the systems industry, most of which has been spent trying to simplify and streamline the way messaging applications are built through well defined application architectures. This is fueled by a passion to drive quality product deployment and architectures working closely with customers and their IT organizations.


 

Infante holds a Bachelor of Science in Saint Peters College in New Jersey and is a Exchange 2003 Masters Certified Ranger.
