Hi! I’m Kate Follis, Senior Technical Writer on the Exchange Server team. I work primarily on Exchange transport. I’m always looking for new ways to make technical information more accessible and to find new ways for you to connect with product experts. My philosophy is that help should be, well, helpful. If you have ideas, I’d love to hear them!
I’ve been working at Microsoft for almost two years. My job is a perfect combination of the work I like to do most: learning, writing, working with technology, and helping other people. Before joining Microsoft, I worked for about six years as a Microsoft Certified Trainer. My training specialties are Active Directory and Exchange. In my last trainer position, I organized a program to provide technical learning opportunities for network administrators working in K-12 schools. Before becoming a trainer, I worked as a network administrator, freelance writer, project manager, database administrator, etc., etc.
I’m a Seattle native and never get tired of the beautiful Northwest scenery. When I’m not working, I spend time with my family – often playing darts, Scrabble or mah jong. I like day hiking, traveling to the Oregon Coast, baking, fantasy novels, and sampling microbrews.
