David Strome’s Biography

Hi, my name's David and I'm hooked on e-mail. So what better place to work than Microsoft? Nothing happens at Microsoft without e-mail. And better still, what better product to work on than Exchange Server? If you're addicted to e-mail, there's no better place to be than at an e-mail-driven company working on their e-mail product :). So I did what any other e-mail junkie would do... I joined Microsoft in July 2005 as a technical writer for Exchange. I mainly write about the Exchange Management Shell and compliance features, such as transport rules and journaling. And I write e-mail. Lots of e-mail. This bio is going out in e-mail to be posted later. Isn't e-mail wonderful?

Before coming to Microsoft, I spent 10 years working as a network administrator at several companies in British Columbia, Canada. My main focus at these companies was Exchange or e-mail in general in mixed environments. I get a real kick out of being able to connect people, which is why I love Exchange. I graduated from the Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC in 1996.

When I'm not writing, I secretly try to advance the infiltration of Canada into the United States. So far my plan is going very well. Many of my teammates now work for Timbits and I've replaced the Starbucks coffee beans with Tim Hortons coffee beans in Building 34. Poutine is regularly served in the cafeterias. Coffee Crisps are no longer sold on the underground market. The sofas and couches have been replaced with chesterfields. (Just don't tell anybody, mkay?) If I'm not doing any of the above, I'm going to movies, walking, reading, visiting my niece and nephews, or driving back to my home in Canada.
