Bill Long’s Biography

I started at Microsoft in 1997 supporting Exchange 4.0 and 5.0 on the deep night shift, with a focus on disaster recovery. In 2001, I moved to a daytime team that focused on advanced troubleshooting and some elementary debugging. During that time, my focus changed to the RUS and public folders. After about a year and a half of that, I had a brief stint (about a year) on a team where I was assigned to work with specific customers. During this time period, I wrote the PFDAVAdmin tool as a learning exercise. Returning to my previous team around early 2004, I continued to improve my coding and debugging skills. In 2006 I became an Escalation Engineer, and have continued in that capacity since then. My main focus remains public folders, although I do venture into other areas of the code from time to time.
