E3

E3 is crazy.  For those of us who are generally content to live out our lives under "sane" conditions - i.e. not actively seeking out flashing lights, people costumed as PacMan or medeival characters, and very large "booths" (AKA large villages) - it's a bit overwhelming.  When my friend at Vivendi Studios invited me to a Scarface party, I politely declined.  The party didn't even start until 9:30 p.m.  On a Wednesday night.  Are these people crazy?  How do they get up the next morning and have enough time to run, shower, and drive to the expo by 9 a.m.?  Oh, wait... they don't...

Anyway, apparently the Olsen twins and some other celebrities I hadn't heard of were there.  It might have been fun, but considering how crazy my week was already, I'm not too disappointed that I missed it.

Anyway, E3 was good.  I worked the booth a bit and walked the floor some, too, and got to play some games... which is something I don't do too often (and when I do, it's usually Flight Sim).  Both experienced FS users and newbies seemed to enjoy FSX, and lots of people were taken aback when we told them that we have the whole world in the box.  In the game Scarface, it's a big deal that they have all of one metropolis.  Granted, we don't have every storefront in the world, but we do have every airport. :)

I ran into Joel DeYoung, of Squawkbox fame, which was fun, and I think I might have been filmed playing FSX by some Italian TV station.  (The media were everywhere)

It was my first time in L.A., land of many freeways, so that was an interesting experience.  "June gloom" apparently starts in early May, so I got to see neither sunrise nor sunset over Santa Monica Blvd.  Some other time, perhaps...

All right - back to work.  Hopefully I'll post again sooner than later.
