Hotfix KB2028696 Available – Improves Dynamics AX 2009 Patch Import Performance

Microsoft has released a hotfix (KB2028696) for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 which may improve performance while installing application hotfixes that contain embedded labels. This hotfix modifies the way that embedded labels are handled during the installation of official Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 application hotfixes in that it does not scan for duplicate labels as is done during normal .XPO import. With this hotfix in place we’ve seen patch installation times decrease by up to 85% (actual results will vary). Please note that this hotfix is only available for Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 as support for label importing during patching was added at SP1 and thus is not applicable to RTM. In addition, this hotfix is included in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 SP1 Hotfix Rollup 5 and beyond.
