The grand finale of Code for Honor, the inaugural edition of Microsoft’s Solution Excellence Awards 2014, was held in Bangalore sometime ago!
Code for Honor was created to recognize excellence in the development of software solutions by small & medium-sized Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), especially those that have embraced a Cloud-first, Mobile-first approach. The competition included various stages, including videos of solution prototypes, telephone interviews, in-person presentations at the pre-final round in 3 cities, and eventually the final judging round in Bangalore. All 25 finalists showcased their solutions at the awards ceremony.
Key Highlights of Code for Honor 2014:
While the registrations came from over 170 cities/towns, solutions were submitted from over 80 cities/towns in India – making us feel proud about the spread of ISVs across India.
We reviewed over a 1000 solutions and their videos, discussed the solution architecture, deployment plan, business plan, and go to market with the developers and watched many of these solutions being built from just a concepts to working prototypes! At the national finals, a panel of eminent Jury from the IT field in India picked the winners after reviewing their working prototypes!
And the winners for 2014 Microsoft Solutions Excellence Awards are :
Each of the winning companies get Rs. 200,000, an All-in-one Windows 8 device and a Lumia 1520 Windows Phone. In addition to this, the winners get an opportunity to receive additional mentoring and access to potential investors & customers in the next few months.
All pre-finalists, finalists and winners have been incorporated into a wall of fame with details of their solutions.
