News: Office Communications Server 2007 R2 Response Group Service Fails After Applying July 2010 Cumulative Updates

Due to recent discoveries in the July 2010 Cumulative Update for Office Communications Server 2007 R2, it is necessary to remove this update from the download site until it can be patched. The primary concern is an issue with the Response Group Service. When the cumulative update is applied, changes in agents and agent groups are not applied until after the Response Group Service is restarted. This, of course, is not acceptable in the quality of our products.

Q&A

What is the problem?

If you have applied the cumulative update and you are using the Response Group Service, you will notice that your changes to agents and agent groups do not take effect until you restart the Response Group Service.

If I have already applied the update, should I worry?

If you are not using the Response Group Service, you should not have any issues.

When can we expect the cumulative update to be available again?

You can expect the cumulative update to be available again in 10 to 15 days assuming all new quality testing passes.
