8 things about windows 8: windows key + prt sc

I discovered this one by accident (thought I was pressing ALT + Print Screen) – in Windows 8 the Windows key + Print Screen takes a screen shot of the entire screen and creates a sequentially named file in the Pictures Library under a Screenshots folder!

the file type is PNG and it’s one of my new favorite finds in Windows 8!!!

I don’t have a Prt Sc key on the Surface Pro
I want a screen shot of the whole file not just the screen

so when I press the fn key and then the prt sc key it doesn’t put a screen shot in the folder.

Frances, you can download an app called Light Screen that will Screenshot it for you. But you can also choose what you screenshot too. It has the options to choose where you put it (what folder) and in what format. Virus free and have been using it for
years. (I learned about it through my high school tech class. It’s an awesome tool. Hope this helps.
