windows 7 wednesday tip: make windows server 2008 r2 look like windows 7!

why?  because you can!  no seriously – if you are supporting computers and have an application that requires windows 7 (or takes advantage of some of the operating system’s new capabilities) then using remote desktop services (rds) to access windows server 2008 r2 can look just like windows 7 if you configure it that way.

Terminal Services

windows server 2008 r2 remote desktop connection session with folder redirection

Windows 7

windows 7 session with folder redirection (so my data follows me and is cached on my laptop for offline use as well)
