An invitation to the Microsoft Project & Portfolio Partners and MVP’s as invited guests from MPUG

Microsoft has commissioned MPUG and their membership to run and take the beta test exam for the new Microsoft Project 2010 Exam70-178: Microsoft Project 2010, Managing Projects. The other authorized groups who can take the beta test are the Project field, certified Microsoft Project & Portfolio Partners and Project MVP’s

Why is the test Beta? Well, due to the popularity of the Microsoft Project client we are required to put the exam through statistical validation to pass the check point to make it a full exam.

Is the exam valid then? Yes, if you take the exam and pass you will be awarded a full Exam70-178: Microsoft Project 2010, Managing Projects certification.

Will it cost me anything? No, you won’t have to pay the normal charge for taking the test. For the beta you will be given a promo code by MPUG which will allow you to take the test at any Prometric test center around the world in English. (On GA we will issue the test in other languages, this will be aligned to our Project Server test languages)

When can I take the test ? Test centers will open for the beta test on 22nd Nov 2010 for those who have registered with MPUG. Only participants who have the registration promo code will be allowed to participate. For a list of test centers see www.prometric.com/Microsoft/default.htm.

How do I register with MPUG? Sign up for the test at the MPUG test registration site here (you do not have to be an MPUG member), register

When will the exam be available to everyone? We anticipate that the exam will be generally available in January 2011
