Aktuelle DFS-N und DFS-R Hotfixes

Hi, Fabian hier. In unserem Team bearbeiten wir neben anderen Themen auch das Thema DFS-R. Da wir unseren Kunden empfehlen, immer die aktuellen DFS-R Hotfixes zu installieren, sollte DFS-R eingesetzt werden, soll in diesem Beitrag ein Überblick über die derzeit verfügbaren Hotfixes gegeben werden.

Da die Hotfixes einige Fehler beheben, die Probleme in einer DFS-R Umgebung verursachen können (bis hin zu ungewollten Datenkonfikten oder einer sehr langsamen Replikation), sollten die Hotfixes in jedem Fall auf allen DFS-R Systemen installiert werden. Unterschiedliche Hotfix-Level sind nicht nur bei DFS-R nicht empfohlen, sondern grundsätzlich nicht. Es kann hier zu schwierig nachvollziehbaren Problemen kommen, sollten unterschiedliche Pakete eingesetzt werden. Daher also der Hinweis, nach Möglichkeit alle DFS-R Hotfixes auf allen DFS-R Systemen zu installieren.

Da die meisten Kunden DFS-R in Verbindung mit DFS-N einsetzen, sind auch die aktuellen DFS-N Hotfixes angegeben. Weiterhin gibt es einige Hotfixes, die ebenfalls für DFS-R und DFS-N relevant sind wie z.B. RPC-Hotfixes, SNP etc. Diese sind zusätzlich mit aufgeführt.
Die Liste stellt keinen Anspruch auf absolute Vollständigkeit - jedoch sollten die wichtigsten Hotfixes aufgeführt sein.

Wir werden versuchen, diesen Beitrag up-to-date zu halten, so daß ab und an ein Blick lohnt, ob neue Hotfixes dazugekommen sind.

Es sind ausschließlich Hotfixes für Windows XP SP2 und später sowie für Windows Server 2003 SP1 und später angegeben. Weiterhin werden auch Vista und Windows Server 2008 Hotfixes aufgeführt.

Im Normalfall sind die Updates eines früheren Service Packs im letzten Service Pack enthalten, daher gelten beispielsweise Post Windows Server 2003 SP1 Hotfixes als Windows Server 2003 SP2 integriert. Für Vista und Windows Server 2008 gilt diese Service Pack einschränkung nicht - es werden (falls vorhanden) RTM als auch SP1 Hotfixes angegeben.

Da sich einige Hotfixes für Windows XP und Windows Server 2003 oder Vista / Windows Server 2008 überschneiden, ist hier keine Trennung der Hotfixes nach Service Pack Version oder Betriebssystem vorgenommen worden. Es reicht ein Blick in den KB-Artikel, um festzustellen, ob ein Hotfix für das gewünschte System benötigt wird. Ist der Hotfix nicht direkt über die Seite herunterladbar, kann man sich diesen problemlos über die Hotfix-Seiten zur Verfügung stellen lassen. Ganz oben, noch über dem entsprechenden KB-Artikel selbst, findet man den Link dafür.

Nach Windows Server 2003 SP2 sind folgende, rot markierte Hotfixes auf Windows Server 2003 SP2 Systemen empfehlenswert zu installieren. Da die neueste DFSR.EXE Version im Hotfix KB958876 enthalten ist, muß beispielsweise der Hotfix KB943661 nicht zwangszweise installiert werden und ist daher nicht besonders hervorgehoben.
