Parlano joins Microsoft UC

The news has just been published, Microsoft acquires Parlano. Parlano is a software company that produces persistent group chat solutions.

Those persistent group chat open a new area of development for Unified Communications. It basically allows a user to participate in a discussion with a lower engagement than is requires for a meeting. Half way between the mail, fully asynchronous and overwhelming, and the chat rather demanding, group chat has found a lot of utilization in the finance sector. One of the advantages is that the group chat car be archived and search after the discussion has ended.

By integrating the presence, the persistent group chat will perfectly complete the variety of solutions offered by OCS 2007. The first integration is scheduled with the MindAling product and will be integrated in the next version of OCS.
