Answer: Yes, you can use Office 2007 with SharePoint 2010. Sharepoint 2010 and Office 2010 are specifically designed to work together so addititional features will be available. SharePoint can be used as a repository for any number of different document versions and types
Question: how to have the image in the top of the page above site icon just like contoso which you are showing please?
Answer: That is more of a customization question. Customization is beyond the scope of today’s discussion. You may want to pay close attention at lunch when we talk about upcoming events like SharePoint Saturday. To find the directions you can do a quick BING search to learn how to do specific tasks. Question: Can you have more than 1 blog per person that is directed to different groups in your organizations? For instance, Staff, Students or Faculty or ALL?
Private Answer: yes, and one way to do it is to organize it with different sites such that the url will be different
Question: Can we have both Office Web-Apps and MS Office 2010 together for the same instance of SharePoint 2010?
Answer: yes, once office web apps are installed, configured, and activated, users will have options to open in browser and office apps, we will tlak about this in session 3 and some in session 4 as well

Question: what is PowerPoint Broadcase site, when we install office web-apps, will it get activated?
Answer: during installation of office web apps, a site collection and a broadcast site are created. by default the broadcast site is http://sharepoint-box-url/sites/broadcast, and the associated service applications are also created and configured, it should be activated by default, and additional sites can be created as well, session 3 bob iwll talk about the architecture and demo the feature.
Question: We are implementing SP Foundation on a single WFE server with a separate SQL server. The search function doesn’t return results on our Team Site, either at the root level of the site or any of the subsequent Team Sites within the root… but it does seem to be functioning (the services are all running). At a high level is there something that we should check (i.e. permissions)?
Private Answer: opening a support incident with sharepoint support is what i will do, we are not the best resources for this
Question: Will the new search engine be able to crawl content external to SharePoint?

Question: So you couldn’t pull in content from fileshares, or websites that aren’t hosted by SharePoint?

Question: Do you recomend an inplace upgrade or a side by side upgrade? Are there any advantages of eihter?
Answer: There are lots of differences The biggest difference is the amount of down time and the amount of customization will have an impact on your decision. Question: I am able to install and configure RBS (Remote BLOB Storage) for the any (one) Content Database, when configuring for the 2nd Content Database, when I run msiexec /qn /i rbs.msi REMOTEBLOBENABLE=1 FILESTREAMPROVIDERENABLE=1 DBNAME=<ContentDbName> FILESTREAMSTORENAME=FilestreamProvider_1 ADDLOCAL=EnableRBS,FilestreamRunScript DBINSTANCE=<DBInstanceName>>, I am getting simply a RBS Window as if some parameter is not correct? Private Answer: are you running 32bit? did you do the initial steps to setup SQL? you are pointing to RBS.msi instead of RBS_X64.msi. Does your .msi file exist. is it in the current folder? Hope this helps. If not, I would have to suggest that you call Microsoft directly for support. This is way beyond the scope of what we can provide during a webinar.
Question: Thanks for your reply. FYI; it is the same RBS_X64.msi for the 1st time and for the 2nd time. I am trying out immediately after installing and configuring successfully for the 1st Content Database.

Answer: Yes, [kind-of] the technology is different but the end result is the same

Answer: Depends on your needs. Question: Is the following correct: External – access to your physical drive. Internal – has access to all your virtual machines – no Internet access. Private is?
Answer: External has access to your external NIC (can communicate beyond the host to other network hosts), Internal is for VM’s to communicate with each other and with the host, Private is for VM to VM communication only. No Host connectivity via network with prvate network (unless you bridge which kind-of defeats the purpose. Private is used mostly for sandbox and development/testing
