With a Little Help From Your Friends: Bing Evolves the Search Engine Experience

This week, Microsoft unveiled a major update to Bing that will transform the way you search the web. The new version integrates with your Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and Quora to bring you the best information from across the web and social networks, presented in a way that weeds out the clutter allowing you to make a quick, informed decision.

The new Bing will include three different columns:

  • Core Web Results: Relevant, Comprehensive, Trustworthy
Core web results on Bing make it easy to focus on the links you need to get things done, without the clutter of social updates.
  • Snapshot: Get It Done Faster
Snapshot unites with companies such as Yelp, Open Table and Fansnap to bring you relevant information and services to your search, including maps, restaurant reservations and reviews.
  • Sidebar: Social Search Done Right
Who doesn’t value a friend’s recommendation? With sidebar, Bing is bringing together the best of the web and letting you share, discover, and interact with friends like you do in real life.

The new release of Bing will begin rolling out in the coming weeks and will be available in the U.S. in early June. You can sign up at www.bing.com/new to be notified of availability and learn more about the new Bing here.
