I was just reading the Security newsletter and saw this useful entry:

Find information about your particular products on the Microsoft Product Lifecycle web site.

See a List of Supported Service Packs: Microsoft provides free software updates for security and nonsecurity issues for all supported service packs.

If you want to sign up to the newsletter, just follow these steps:

- Got to the  Profile Centre
- Log in
- Click on Manage my Subscriptions
- Select your country/loacation preference as UK
- Select the Microsoft security newsletter
- Hit subscribe/update
