Superheros, comics and the brand new first-ever Microsoft UK Virtual event. This can only mean one thing....Launch baby!

I have worked on a few launches at Microsoft now and I have to say that I am really impressed with the thinking they have put behind the creative ideas for the launch of Windows Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 & Visual Studio 2008.

One top thing is the Heroes Happen Here online comic. Imagine a daily web comic that adapts tech stories from actual IT Professionals and Developers across the world!!. Starting the end of January we will release a new daily episodes driven from suggestions from the IT community. Make sure you sign up for the RSS feed so you can have it delivered straight to your RSS enabled inbox or favorite RSS client when a new episode has been released. And remember - We want your story! To get involved or sign up to the RSS feed, click on the {HHH comic} box here

One of the other coolest things, I think is the Virtual Launch Event that we will be launching on 19th March 2008 - the same date as the physical event. The “Virtual Launch Experience” will provide a rich online experience that enables IT professionals and Developers to enter the event location (in our case Birmingham ICC), choose whether to view the keynote session or breakout sessions (up to 15). In addition to this, within the experience you will be able to visit Microsoft and partner pods – where they will be able to watch videos, download collateral, or visit Microsoft and partner booths.  Other elements within this experience:

  • Interactive Show Guide
  • Exhibitor list
  • Backpack
