DesignIT 2007 | An Innovative Way Make a Difference

A brain of two halves:

There's no doubt that both men and women are equally intelligent. However, depending on whether you use the left (male) or right (female) side of your brain, you will be relying on different strengths to solve particular challenges.

Most people will predominantly use either the male or female side of their brain, regardless of their actual gender.

Take five minutes to fill out our quiz, 'A brain of two halves', and discover whether you have a female or male brain. We'll even donate £1 to charity* for each quiz completed by midnight on Christmas Eve!

About DesignIT.......

For those unfamiliar with this competition, the concept is simple –  we are offering IT Professionals the opportunity to demonstrate their expertise and creativity by transforming the technical infrastructure of a charity of their choice by tackling one of the problems put forward by our chosen 4 charities.

Working to a budget of £15,000, entrants are invited to submit a system design and 400 word summary that outlines how the innovative use of technology can transform the way a charity meets its causes. Entries should only include details of the software and hardware requirements as installation and technical guidance will be provided by Microsoft. All submissions will be reviewed by a panel of expert judges and the ten that show the most creative use of technology will be put forward to the next stage. These will then be put to a public vote to find the overall winner.  The winning entry will be passed to a team of Microsoft technical specialists who will work with the winner to implement the system. The four runners-up will each receive £1,000 worth of Microsoft software for the charity named on their winning entry. Plus, all five finalists will win a free ticket to TechEd;IT Forum 2008 in Barcelona. The competition will open on the 17 December 2007 and closes on the 21 March 2008.
