Coming in January! Lync Server PowerShell Challenge

Sure, Lync Server 2010 is pretty new right now. But what better way to learn more about something new than by having a little fun with it? Beginning in January, we’re going to be starting a weekly challenge. Every Monday we’ll present you with a puzzle to solve, something related to PowerShell with Lync Server. (This is, after all, the Lync Server PowerShell blog.) To help you along, we’ll even provide you with a hint partway through the week.

When you think you have the puzzle solved, send us your answer. If you got the right answer you’ll receive a score based on whether you submitted your answer before or after the hint came out. You can send us your name or an alias and we’ll post a running total of scores each week. That way you can see how you match up against everyone else, and we’ll keep track of all the scoring for you.

How difficult will this challenge be? Well, it will change from week to week, but anyone who’s watched Sesame Street should be able to figure out at least some them. (But no, watching Sesame Street is not a prerequisite.) That’s all we’re going to tell you for now, you’ll have to come back in January to find out more.

This challenge will last, well, we’re not sure how long it will last. Probably until:

a) We run out of challenge ideas

b) Everyone gets bored and drops out (not that that could ever happen)

c) Our manager decides we need to stop spending our time playing games and do some real work

You might be wondering what kind of great prizes are being awarded to the top scorers. If you are wondering that you’ve never worked in a UA group before. Come on, we’re writers, what kind of budget do you think we have? But hey, who doesn’t want their name (or alias if you’d like to remain anonymous) up in lights (or up in blogland) for all to see? Stop by and give it a try.

The first challenge will be posted on Monday, January 17. Don’t miss it!
