  1. Any idea when the article will be updated with examples for the statement:

•The Install Applications task sequence step fails for HTTPS-only workgroup clients after you upgrade to Configuration Manager, version 1702. Additionally, errors that resemble the following are recorded in the smsts.log file on the client:

    1. Hi Brandon, I’m checking on this. Thanks for reporting it.

  2. Gokulnath says:

Who ever already installed 1702 need to apply this update right??

What about new installation of 1702,?

    1. Hello Gokulnath, This is a hotfix rollup for sites that already have Configuration Manager current branch version 1702 installed. It applies whether you got 1702 via update from 1610 or earlier or by new install of the baseline version of 1702.

Could you please clarify the following statement: “The Create Task Sequence Media operation may fail if the Configuration Manager version 1702 client is installed on the computer being captured. If the final restart step does not complete, the computer can be manually restarted to complete the operation.”

    1. Hi Kevin

Looks like there is a typo there. The line should read “The Capture Media Task Sequence operation may fail…”. I’ll ask the KB team to correct the article. Thanks for reporting it.

    Hi,

I have question if we have configured Cloud Services then from where I can download 1702 version.

    Regards

    1. Hello Ramay

If you have Configuration Manager current branch 1702 installed and the service connection point role installed and set to online mode then this hotfix rollup for 1702 will be already available to you in your Configuration Manager console. Please find more details here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/manage/install-in-console-updates.

      Thanks

  5. Kenneth says:

    Hi,

When installing the Update Rollup, we get an error in the console – Prerequisite check failed.
I cannot find anything in the logs and when I look at the status it is stuck after extracting components.

    Any ideas?

    1. Hello Kenneth,

If a prereq check has failed, see the ConfigMgrPrereq.log to get more details about the failure. Prereq check failures will stop the installation.

There are instructions here https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/servers/manage/install-in-console-updates#a-namebkmkbeforeinstalla-before-you-install-an-in-console-update for how to re-run the prereq checker and how to retry the installation after addressing the failure.

      1. Michael McAlpine says:

I had the prerequisite check fail because I didn’t have the USMT tool installed. Not a huge deal to fix, but I would really like the see the failures noted in the SCCM console so I don’t have to track down issues in a log file. I end up doing enough of that with OSD deployments.

        1. Hi Michael

Thanks for the feedback. Please add your vote and comment to this UserVoice item https://configurationmanager.uservoice.com/forums/300492-ideas/suggestions/19582216-updates-servicing-node-prerequisite-check.

          thanks
