Early wave update for Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager version 1606 now available

Just a quick note to let you know that an early wave update for System Center Configuration Manager version 1606 is now available. Administrators who opted-in to the early wave deployment for System Center Configuration Manager current branch, version 1606, will have this update available in the Updates and Servicing node of the Configuration Manager console. This update was made available on August 5, 2016 and addresses critical, late-breaking issues that were discovered during the final release process for version 1606. Note that this update does not apply to sites that update or install version 1606 after August 3, 2016.

I was planning on updating to 1606 this weekend. Should I install this version instead? Is there documentation on know issues and how to avoid them?

It looks like the Task Sequence Import bug in 1606 is still busted in this hotfix.. (Any TS with a Software Updates Step will fail to import)

  3. Hi,

Just a quick note guys, it looks like every time a version upgrade is applied the boot.wim WinPE images are reverting to a previous version. This is causing the following hotfix having to be applied over again: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3143760

So far i have had to apply this hotfix regarding the boot.wim WinPE images three times, and its been after a System Center Configuration Manager update.
