Getting MCSE Certified….

Admission: I am NOT an MCSE or an MCSA.

The last time I held an MCSE type certification was back in the Windows 2000 Days. It is about time that I bring my certifications current, so I started planning out my path last week. I thought I was being aggressive by planning one test a month through December (5 Tests total). Then I ran across the “90 Days to MCSA” program.

Now THAT is aggressive! This program leads you through taking the following exams over a 90 day period -

Exam 410:
Installing and Configuring Windows Server 2012

Exam 411:
Administering Windows Server 2012

Exam 412:
Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012

Exam 461:
Querying Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Exam 462:
Administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012 Databases

Exam 463:
Implementing a Data Warehouse with Microsoft

I am not really interested in becoming a SQL guru, but I do plan on leveraging the materials for the first 3 tests that will apply to my MCSE.  I will just sub out the SQL materials for -

Exam 413:
Designing and Implementing a Server Infrastructure

Exam 414:
Implementing an Advanced Server Infrastructure

I plan on leveraging the exact same resources that I recommend for everyone looking to get certified -

Microsoft Virtual Academy: Windows Server 2012 Training

Windows Server 2012 Jump Starts

MCSE Practice Tests (MeasureUp)
