Seattle WinNUG Meeting on Wednesday, Jun 3rd…..

Tomorrow the Seattle Windows Networking User Group is meeting in Bellevue at the Microsoft Lincoln Square office. We will have pizza and soft drinks for everyone that attends.

For this month’s presentation, I was called upon to fill in and have chosen to deliver my Windows 7 – Coolness session. I delivered this a month ago at another User Group and received very good feedback on it. Here is the abstract I provided for the session -

Windows 7 – Coolness

Coolness says it all. Windows 7 has some great new features that will change how you do your everyday tasks. At this week’s meeting, come see real demos – not PowerPoint slides – of Windows 7 in action. I will demo some of the new features in the GUI to organize your desktop and help find things you need. We will look at new power saving features and personalization enhancement. We will also look at some of the features in Internet Explorer v8 that you may not be aware of. We will look at some changes in security features that reduce the prompts users see for every days tasks and features designed to protect our increasingly mobile data. Finally we will demonstrate a mobile connectivity feature called Direct Access that enables end users to seamlessly connect to corporate networks and access resources as if they were in the office – all without a VPN.

If you plan on making it out to the meeting, please RSVP via the link above so I know how much pizza to order.

Cheers!
