Doug Holland and I recently went to a local application provider named Avantar. We had lunch with their CEO and CMO and talked with some of their developers about the process of building the applications and the possibilities inherent in local search applications on mobile devices. Avantar has aligned themselves with perhaps the most recognizable local search brand in the United States and maybe even the world. The Yellow Pages. With their Windows Phone application finding whatever it is that you are looking for is just so easy. In this first 2 minute promo video Doug talks with Michael Alvarez Chief Marketing Officer from Avantar. I love his enthusiasm for his product! “Delicious!”
The coolest thing for me about the guys at Avantar is that they make no bones about the fact that they are in a business. They develop for multiple platforms. They write stuff for Apple, and for Android, and of course for Windows Phone. In a discussion with their developers it becomes clear that there are hurdles to development in other platforms that are seemingly less formidable when developing for the Windows Phone. It is worth spending a little bit of time listening to their developers talk about their experience developing White and Yellow Pages for Windows Phone.
The Executive managers of Avantar are excited about their application and its future. It seems like there is certainly a market segment that is ripe for the White and Yellow Pages Application. In the last video segment Doug talks to the Managers about their experience with this innovative product.
