IE8 Release and the worst 5 minutes and 13 seconds of marketing I have seen in a long time.

Last week Microsoft announced the release of Internet Explorer 8. This updated edition of the browser is very good indeed. I have used and recommend using it as your primary browser. It has some great intuitive functions. Search is simpler that it has ever been. Tabs finally work the way I think they should. While I don't speak a lot of languages I love the translations components that allow me to see web pages in multiple languages side by side.

Along with the release of IE8 comes a marketing piece that I am still suffering from. It is without question the worst 5 minutes and 13 seconds of insulting attempts at comedy I have watched since Ishtar. I hope Microsoft did not actually pay to have that made! Maybe I just don't get it, and frankly if that is supposed to be funny, I really don't want to get it. Watch it for yourself and let me know what you think.

I made it to 1:14 and had to stop it because I didn’t want to have to replace the computer I was about to throw out the window.

I just want a web browers that doesn’t insist on taking all of my memory….
