IT Executive Roadmap Tour - Coming to a City Near You

RoadmapTour

One of the toughest things about being the IT manager in a small or medium sized company is that you tend to wear many hats and need to be up to speed on so many different technologies to be able to do your job effectively. This fall, myself and my colleagues, Rick and Damir, will be out on the road across Canada to see if we can't help you out with that. We'll be doing half day sessions at each of the cities below and hope that you'll be able to join us and then stay afterwards for lunch.

We're going to be covering core infrastructure topics including virtualization, management and security, focusing on what's happening in general in these areas and taking a look at what's coming down the road with regards to Microsoft products such as Windows Server 2008 (with an emphasis on what's new with virtualization and how it could help you), the System Centre product line (with a drill down on System Centre Essentials),  Forefront security and Windows Vista desktop deployment.

Here are the dates we'll be in each city:

City Date
Winnipeg September 18
Vancouver September 20
London September 20
Montreal September 25
Ottawa September 27
Mississauga October 2
Toronto October 3
Halifax October 10
Quebec City October 11
Calgary October 16
Edmonton October 17

We're also hoping to connect with IT managers in each of the cities we're in and are planning on staying a few days to make those connections. Why do we want to make connections, you might ask? Well, part of our job is to help support the growth of the IT professional community in Canada. We can do that best by knowing who the IT people are across Canada and gaining an understanding as to the challenges and needs that you experience in doing your job. We also find that while we may not always have the answers, we probably know someone that does and that person is probably someone else at a company somewhere doing something similar to you. We want to help facilitate connecting you with information and resources you need. So sign up now for the tour event in your city. And if you're interested in making a connection, email me and we'll try to connect while we're out on the road with as many local IT managers as we can.
