Planning ahead for Longhorn

I find that IT Managers are always looking at effective newer technologies to plan ahead. I get this in my discussions with CIOs too. I came across this notice and I found the topic area is helping me in my future business outlook so I thought I would share it with you.

Executive Chat - Windows Server “Longhorn” Clustering

Ask questions and discuss the new architecture, migration strategies, new tools and improved features of Clustering with Windows Server code-named “Longhorn.”

Zane Adam is a director in the Windows Server Division, and is responsible for managing the enterprise infrastructure marketing teams for Windows Compute Cluster Server, Virtual Server and Windows Server Virtualization, Windows Server, and Windows Storage Server.  Zane has been with Microsoft for seven years.

Manish Kalra is a Senior Product Manager in the Windows Server group at Microsoft, responsible for High Availability planning. Manish has been with Microsoft since 2000, during which time he has held positions as  Product Manager for System Management Server, Management Solutions Specialist and Infrastructure consultant with Microsoft Consulting Services. 

Elden Christensen is a program manager on the Microsoft Windows Server Clustering product team in Microsoft’s Enterprise Server Division. A high availability specialist, he has been with Microsoft since 1999 and is responsible for Failover Cluster storage. Elden has been in the technology industry for over a decade and was an enterprise network administrator and Microsoft Certified Software Engineer instructor prior to joining Microsoft. 

Rik Wright is a Group Product Manager in the Windows Server Division, and is responsible for managing the Windows Server Enterprise Edition product line. Rik has been with Microsoft for three years. Prior to his current responsibilities, Rik was the Technical Product Manager in charge of Microsoft’s UNIX Interoperability technologies.

Kurt Friedrich has 35 years experience in the computer industry, almost all of it working in the operating system organizations within major computer companies. Kurt has been Product Unit Manager for Microsoft’s High Availability and Clustering group for the last 5 years.
