CIPS supports the Neil Squire Society--Empowering Canadians with Physical Disabilities

At the INFORMATICS conference last week, CIPS' President, John Boufford, made a impassioned call for action to support the Neil Squire Society who innovate technology and services to empower Canadians with physical disabilities. John took this plea for support to heart himself by his President's Challenge-this time a public "shaving" of his long-standing beard to raise funds for Neil Squire.

At the conference, John introduced me to Gregory Pyc, Neil Squire's National Operations Manager and Lisa Thompson, Director of Development. They shared their research such as Gary Birch's Brain Computer Interface Project, success stories of their clients, and their work with Microsoft. They made compelling advocates for doing more and I thank John for providing this introduction. I'll be doing an interview with the Neil Squire team to talk about their latest projects which will appear here.

As a national community of IT professionals, we call upon you to use your talent, energy, and enthusiasm to support programs for the public good.

Thank you,
Stephen Ibaraki, FCIPS, I.S.P.
