TechNet Build'06 tour, a single event or part of the curriculum?

Over the past few weeks I have spoken to a number of IT Managers who have commented on the many posts on this blog about careers and development in IT. I also often get asked why managers should give their IT team time to go to TechNet events. My answer is simple...

Think of the TechNet events; monthlies, tours, webcasts and online resources as part of a curriculum.

For example; the Build'06 tour concentrates on teaching people about creating a Secure Well Managed Infrastructure. The events are preceeded in each city by a usergroup session on Desktop Management. On top of this, there are many resources being provided at and after the events to help people thereafter such as the 'ask the experts',  virtual hands-on lab training and other online resources.

As part of the team that builds and delivers this curriculum, we are always looking to provide you and your team with value for the time in attending. As such we are finding more and more organisations making use of these resources and hope you will do too.
