Here, we explore a number of Security enhancements included in Visual Studio® 2005. Visual Studio® 2005 can help developers to write and debug more easily in a least privilege account. In this session, we will also highlight two new features: Secure String and XML Encryption API.

Integrated Security Tools in Visual Studio 2005 IDE
Visual Studio® 2005 now includes many tools that were once available only as separate downloads or could only be executed from the command prompt. As a result, you can now use these tools to help you to more effectively find security vulnerabilities. In this session, we will explore FxCop (Code Analysis) for native exe and ASP.NET application development, and we'll take a look at how to use Application Verifier.

With its new security model, SQL Server 2005 provides database administrators with more control over access and execution permissions for database objects. Over the past five years, Microsoft has conducted extensive and detailed security reviews and upgrades. This session will provide an overview of several new features of Visual C++ 8.0 that will help improve the security of existing code of C and Visual C++ code, including new and improved libraries and new analysis tools.
