System Center 2012 SP1, Windows Intune and the BYOD Revolution

The term “Bring your own device” or BYOD has become more mainstream as of late. Gone are the days of IT simply handing out a device prescribed in part because the solution was thought of as secure and easily managed. More and more, “Mobile Workers” are enticed by the latest and greatest smartphones released and look to capitalize on their investment by dual purposing their device for personal and business use. There are benefits to allowing users to supply their own smartphones, but if not secured and managed properly the threat of lost or stolen data could outweigh the benefits. Microsoft addresses this issue and arms IT administrators through a combination offering of both the recently released System Center SP1 and Windows Intune.
