Join Us In Person and Online to Learn About Private Cloud!!

Next week is the beginning of a lot of great activity around Microsoft’s Private Cloud technologies, System Center 2012, and Windows Server “8” beta.  Most of these are events that you can attend, some are online and all are a great way to dig a little deeper and find out more about what we have to offer for IT professionals to implement, manage, and monitor their Private Cloud infrastructure – and we’re not just talking about virtualization here!

Microsoft Management Summit 2012 (MMS2012) – April 16-20, Las Vegas NV

mms2012Now, I’m not sure how many of you are going to be attending MMS2012 next week in Las Vegas, but if you are connect with me.  I will be there proctoring some System Center 2012 instructor-led labs and also taking videos of the event and sharing them back on this blog.  If you are attending MMS2012 next week, I need you to do two things:

  • Tweet about your experience and use the hash tag #canucksatmms so that other Canadian’s can connect with you and we can all share what we are doing and our experiences.  If you don’t have a Twitter account, go to and sing up for one and get started.
  • Connect with me and share your story!  I will be at MMS-2012 with a video camera in hand eager to hear from you what you saw and liked, didn’t like, are excited about and generally willing to share with me and your fellow IT professionals north of the 49th parallel.  You can get me on Twitter (@DamirB) or send me an email – I would love to connect with you and hear your thoughts.

Now, if you are not able to make it to MMS2012 (it is sold out, BTW), don’t forget that you can also watch the two keynotes live via the Microsoft Server and Cloud Platform site. Keynotes at MMS2012 include

TechDays TV for IT Professionals:  Windows Server “8” Getting Started – What’s New in Hyper-V (Part 1)

imageNow, if you can’t make it to MMS2012 and don’t want to attend Brad Anderson’s Keynote on Tuesday, you can join me for the next episode of TechDays TV where I will provide insights into what is new in Hyper-V in Windows Server “8” Beta.  There is so much new in Windows Server “8” beta when it comes to Hyper-V that we won’t be able to cover it all in one sessions, so this is only part 1 with a second session to follow.  As always, I’ll be online to answer questions during and after the session.  Looking forward to seeing you online for this exciting episode.

TechDays TV takes place every Tuesday, at 12:00 noon EST.  Episodes alternate between IT professional and developer focus so reserve the time slot in your calendar and keep coming back each week (or at least every second week for the IT professional sessions).

Canadian Microsoft Private Cloud Launch

imageWe know that not everyone could make it to MMS2012 in Las Vegas, so we decided to bring some of the launch excitement to you.  Starting May 8th in Toronto, and travelling across the country to Vancouver, Calgary, Ottawa, Montreal, and Quebec City we are bringing the Canadian Microsoft Private Cloud Launch to you.  It is going to be a whole day of technical information on how you can use Microsoft technology to help make your IT infrastructure more robust and more responsive to business pressures.  You’ll also get to see how Windows Server “8” will help allow you to do more than you ever though possible (and I’ll even do some pretty cool demos too!).

If you have not already done so, register today to attend the Canadian Microsoft Private Cloud Launch in the city nearest you.

Private Cloud Boot Camps and Windows Server “8” Beta Install Camps in the works too!!

We’re not done yet. You told us you loved the IT Virtualization Boot Camps that we organized with your local user groups in February, March & April.  In May and June we will be coming to many cities across the country with Private Cloud Boot Camps where you can get your hands on System Center 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Hyper-V and our entire Private Cloud platform.  When I say “hands-on” I mean hands-on!!.  You and your colleagues will be in the drivers seat as you implement, manage and monitor a Private Cloud infrastructure in the day-long session.

Many of you indicated that you wanted to learn more about Windows Server “8” and try out the beta.  Along with the Private Cloud Boot Camps, we will also be coming to a city near you with Windows Server “8” Beta Install Camps where you can install the operating system on your own hardware and get some guidance and information on how to take advantage of it.

More details on both the Private Cloud Boot Camps and Windows Server “8” Beta Install Camps are coming in the next week or so.  Keep checking back on this blog for all the details and registration links.

Looking Forward to Seeing You!

I’m getting tired just thinking about all of the events taking place.  We are all looking forward to seeing you in person or online.  It promises to be fun and informative!

In the Private Cloud launch in Montreal, the…/private-cloud-launch page says it will be at Centre Mont-Royal but the registration page says the Sheraton.

  2. DamirB says:

Thanks for noticing the discrepancy.  In this case the registration page is correct and states that there has been a change in venue.  The Montreal Private Cloud Launch event will take place at the Sheraton.
