Upcoming Events in the Ottawa area

I thought I would let all the Ottawa area IT Pros know that there will be a couple of interesting events coming up that I will be both participating in and presenting. Here are some of the details:

I'm speaking about and demo'ing Windows Vista and OneCare 1.5 from a Canadian consumer perspective on March 14th (7 - 9 pm) at the regular monthly meeting of the Ottawa PC Users Group (website link for details). Come see the consumer side of Windows Vista and how it interacts with your cable provider as a Media Centre and how it can be used to produce some very cool looking creative content. I'll also be showing off Windows OneCare v1.5 with support for the Canadian marketplace. If you have suggestions on what specifically to add to my list of Demos - let me know! I'm a full fledged paying member - but meetings are always open to newcomers and guests.

On a sightly more technical note - March 20th has me at the Microsoft Ottawa office for the TechNet monthly presentation on Exchange 2007 Transport and Routing Architecture. This is the second session on the hot Exchange 2007 series I've setup.  I'll be talking about changes to the routing process, demonstrating connections between Hubs and Edges and establishing transport rules. This one runs from 12 - 2 pm (registration and pizza starts at 11:30 am) be sure to register ahead of time if you please. Here's the link to the Microsoft Events registration site with more details.

On the 22nd I get to sit and watch (ok - participate as well) Mitch Garvis, MVP present to the Ottawa Windows Server User Group on 2 topics of interest lately. He'll be doing a session entitled "The Business Value of Vista and the Next Generation of Microsoft Certifications" has been delivered at multiple UserGroup events across North America with great reviews. I've known Mitch since he stuck his hand up when I asked the crowd who'd like to form and lead a user group in Montreal a couple of years back - he's a passionate guy who's very good in front of a crowd.  I can't wait to hear what he has to say since he's been working with the certification team in Redmond over the last few months.  Head on over to www.owsug.ca for more details and be sure to REGISTER to attend this limited seating event at the Microsoft Office.

Busy month. Do you have anything you'd like to announce that is relevant to IT Pros? Drop us a line via the "email" link at the top of the page.
