Microsoft Acquires ProClarity to Enhance the BI Platform

In a rather exciting development on the business intelligence front, Microsoft today announced it has signed an agreement to acquire ProClarity – a leading provider of software that provides advanced analysis and visualization technologies for the Microsoft BI Platform.  The acquisition of ProClarity will allow Microsoft to offer increased business intelligence capabilities as an integral part of Microsoft Office system applications and servers.

I know that many of you using SQL Server BI technologies that I have talked to are already using some of the ProClarity products such as ProClarity Analytics 6, but now we can all look forward to seeing this great technology integrated into the Microsoft BI product suite including SQL Server and Office 2007.  Stay tuned for further developments on this front as they become available.
