Future of the Desktop Tour featuring Windows Vista and Office 2007 is coming!

Today I attended the Build '06 Tour event in Toronto and helped to configure a Windows Media live stream of the event, as mentioned in earlier posts.  The Toronto stop is now complete and the stream is no longer active, but we should have the recordings made off the video stream available for you to view at your leisure soon.  I'll post the URL where to get them when they become available.  I have to admit, streaming an event L-I-V-E was exceedingly COOL!! .  Which leads me to my next really cool thing - the Future of the Desktop Tour.

I am responsible for putting together the content of the Future of the Desktop Tour that will be hitting several cities across Canada in May and June this year.  The focus of the tour is to provide information needed by and worthwhile to IT pros on how to successfully deploy Windows Vista and Microsoft Office 2007 in their organizations.  Though the exact content of the sessions in not nailed down yet, my thinking is that we will look at application compatibility issues, how to migrate Windows XP and Windows 2000 machines (or maybe just users settings and data) to a Windows Vista computer, how to upgrade Office XP and Office 2003 workstations to Office 2007, how to manage an environment with multiple desktop OSes and applications during and after the migration, as well as some information on the key features of both products.

Since the content is not cast in stone yet, I am asking for your input here as well.  If there is something that you want to see discussed, demoed or included in the Future of the Desktop tour, let me know.  I want to make sure the content addresses your concerns and helps to solve the issues that you will face moving your organizations desktop infrastructure to Windows Vista and Office 2007.  Please add your comments by clicking on the comment link below and let's get a dialogue going.
