TNX: TechNet Exchange - Calgary Edition

After Vancouver, Rick and I split the TNX:TechNet Exchange Tour into two parts - he went to Ottawa and I headed for Calgary.  First stop - the Calgary IT Pro Community user group session at the Sandman Hotel.  The venue had to be changed from the usual meeting place of the Calgary IT Pro Community to a larger venue to hold the 50+ people in attendance.  The turnout was amazing and I have never had so many questions in a 90 minute session!!!  We had a great exchange (no pun intended) of ideas on Exchange 2003 SP2 and Windows Mobile 5.  Suffice it to say that the key conversation related to Direct Push to Mobile 5 devices and how you need AKU2 instead of AKU1 to support this.  AKU2 compliant devices should be available in Canada within a few months.

The next day (Thursday) the TNX:TechNet Exchange Tour landed at the Paramount Chinook Centre.  The folks in attandance - some 250+- got a treat.  I presented the TechNet Innovations Award to its winnder - Chris Diaz.  Find out more about Chris's award-winning solution at the TechNet Innovations Awards site: https://www.microsoft.com/canada/technet/innovationaward5/default.aspx.

After the presentation to Chris, we started with the content and I was really happy with the level of interaction and questions from the audience.  For those questions I was unable to answer, I'll be posting to this blog so that everyone can benefit.  I'm still on tour so be patient and I'll get those answers to you in the next couple of weeks.

Next stop - Toronto.  This is the big stop for the TNX:TechNet Exchange Tour with some 800 people expected to attend.  Rick and I are looking forward to it, but first a stop at the Waterloo-Wellington IT Pro User Group on Monday night for their inaugural meeting.  Should be a lot of fun.
