Indy gets a name! System Center Capacity Manager 2006

One big announcement this morning in the Keynote at MMS 2005 in Las Vegas by Kirill Tatarinov is that Indy (the performance and capacity planning / modeling tool) has a product name; System Center Capacity Manager 2006.

We were also told that the public beta should be out this summer!

For those of you who don't know, the tool allows you to start modelling your Exchange 2003 and MOM 2005 systems to look for potential bottlenecks, server configuration best practices, client latency simulations and much much more.. Basically the tool is designed to help you plan your deployments, migrations and capacity with an easy to use tool. I for one am looking forward to getting my hands on the full toolkit and demonstrating it in the very near future. Another really cool thing is that the tool is being expanded to help you with other applications as well.

I will post up more info all this week from MMS2005 as I understand there are some more really exciting announcements coming!
