Me and this Blog

I have been thinking about blogging for a while, but to be honest I wasn't to sure how to make mine unique - I spoke with Allister Frost and he gave me the best piece of advice: "Be yourself, your personality will shine through". I also needed the respected advice from Eileen Brown to make sure I actually get it right..! Well, here goes.

So... I have been with Microsoft nearly six years, all of that time has been with Exchange. I am currently known as a "Messaging Technical Specialist", well that's what's on the business card, working in the Enterprise and Partner Group at our UK HQ in Reading - what does that really mean..? I guess that you would call me an Exchange Salesman :)

Prior to my relatively new role, I worked in the Exchange Support team for just over five years as an Escalation Engineer (CPR) - I was the guy you spoke that helped fix and troubleshoot those "escalated" issues, prior to them going to the Exchange Product Group, if the issue turned out to be a bug. I used to be the one who debugged the Store.exe crashes, write the action plans find what was causing the problem, all of that stuff.

I have presented numerous Exchange sessions at Microsoft's Internal TechReady events as well as TechEd, ITForum and TechNet Evenings. One thing I do want you to know is that I am incredibly passionate about Exchange and I'll tell you how it is.

What this blog is intended to do is show how things should be done, what to avoid, and to let you know what's coming up in the not too distant future in the Microsoft world of Messaging.

Enjoy.
