Windows Phone 7 Launch recap, NYC Windows Phone Launch is next week

As many of you know, after many months of development, Windows Phone 7 was Released To Manufacturing (RTM’d in Microsoft speak) earlier this year and Monday, the Global Launch of Windows Phone 7 took place in New York City with Steve Ballmer and others running the event.  If you’ve followed any of the press leading up to this event, you probably already knew that AT&T was also going to be our partner for this launch as AT&T is our primary Windows Phone 7 launch partner.  T-Mobile and Sprint are also scheduled to have Windows Phone 7 devices for the holiday season, with Verizon devices coming in 2011.

There’s been much speculation post this event, so I thought I would point folks to the resources that would best help them recap the event and understand what the announcement was so you can start to understand what’s coming and how it may impact you.

First off, the official Press Release that includes the “Really?” TV commercial is located here. Funny stuff, I think we have a hit with that one.

On the Official Microsoft Blog, a recap of Monday’s launch event can be found here.

Of course, the Windows Phone main site can be found here where you’ll find just a plethora of information on Windows Phone 7.

For those of you in the NYC area, the Windows Phone 7 developer launch will be taking place next Tuesday and Wednesday at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square.  If you’re a developer and you’re interested in learning how to get your app on Windows Phone 7, feel free to register here.

Lots more coming in the upcoming weeks and months on Windows Phone 7 from an IT Pro perspective, so be sure to check back regularly!  Enjoy.
