Here’s your chance to learn all about Windows Server 2012 Backup to Microsoft’s cloud-based computing services platform. Join us for this free 3-hour “hands-on lab” and interactive discussions with a Microsoft technical expert. You’ll work with new features and functionalities of Windows Azure Backup using a private and public certificates, setting up scheduling, explorer backup and restore capabilities using Windows Server 2012 Backup.

We’ll also cover training and business opportunities through the Microsoft Virtual Academy, Early Experts, AzureDevs, and BizSpark programs.

3-Hour session (9am-Noon) include:

Here’s your chance to learn all about building a new WordPress site in Windows Azure. Join us for this free 3-hour “hands-on lab” and interactive discussions with a Microsoft technical expert. You’ll work with new features and functionalities within the Windows Azure Portal around managing your website.

Learn how to create a new website, change your theme, post articles, build webpages and other administrative duties as well as discuss how to change your domain name to point to your new Windows Azure website.

We’ll also cover training and business opportunities through the Microsoft Virtual Academy, Early Experts, AzureDevs, and BizSpark programs.

3-Hour afternoon session (1- 4pm) include:

  • Introduction to Windows Azure and Websites
  • Building a Website in WordPress
  • Microsoft Virtual Academy, Early Experts, and BizSpark Programs

You’ll need to bring your own computer (laptop preferred) with the following minimum configuration:

  • * Windows Azure Subscription is needed for lab by going to https://aka.ms/try-azure
  • 4 GB RAM (8 GB preferred) • At least 40 GB of free disk space (preferred)
  • NO Drive encryption technology (Bitlocker or 3rd party)
  • x64 compatible processor with hardware assisted virtualization (Intel VT or AMD-V technology)
  • Installed OS of Windows Server 2012 with Server Backup (Preferred)
  • Although wireless internet access will be available, you may find that bringing your own mobile connectivity (MiFi™, phone data tethering, etc.) will be desirable.
  • * Download required .VHD Windows Server 2012 Trial (Datacenter Edition) for future labs by going to https://aka.ms/msproducts
