Over the past week, here’s a sampling of news highlights of members of the BizSpark One program, identifying a small number of the best companies in BizSpark, which is now comprised of over 40,000 startups.

Week of October 2-8, 2011

  • § BizSpark One alum, Lijit Networks, provider of advertising services, audience analytics, and reader engagement tools for online publishers was acquired by media and publishing company, Federated Media. Founded in 2006 and based in Boulder, Colorado, Lijit was funded by Boulder Ventures, Foundry Group, High Country Venture and Highway 12 Ventures.
  • § ParcelGenie, an instant gift messaging service, was named as one of the 10 winners of PepsiCo10 Europe, a program for the most promising startups in media and technology to partner with PepsiCo. More than 130 firms competed to win £10,000-worth of investment as well as pilot marketing projects with leading PepsiCo brands.
