Lab4U is an award winning, Chilean startup on a mission to improve science education with their new mobile app, Lab4Physics. Lab4Physics is an educational solution designed to help teachers around the world improve science education by making it easy and inexpensive to bring lab experiences into the classroom. Leveraging the built-in sensors found in smartphones and tablets, Lab4Physics instantly turns mobile devices into powerful science instruments – providing students and teachers with tools including an accelerometer, sonometer and speedometer which help bring to life pre-designed experiments. Lab4Physics’ experiments involve fundamental topics like gravity, acceleration, free fall, and creating pendulums to study waves. The experiments are organized into easily recognizable learning topics - making it simple for teachers to integrate new experiments into existing curriculum. “We want to spark kids’ curiosity about the world around them and we believe combining practical experiments with investigation is the best way to show students the incredible adventure science can be,” says CEO and Co-Founder Komal Dadlani.

A Microsoft BizSpark member, Lab4U is able to access powerful Azure tools and resources, continues Dadlani. The company uses Azure Storage for their metadata and databases and relies on Power BI, their core business intelligence tool, to analyze data and share insights. Power BI enables Lab4U to optimize their reporting services - analyzing their statistics to improve business decisions and provide real-time dashboards for their clients and shareholders. Additionally, the company leverages Virtual Machines for the continuous integration their multiple, weekly deployments demand.

“As an early-stage company it is always hard to afford the best tools and run a business with few resources. BizSpark has given us the opportunity to build both the front and back ends of our solution at little cost, which really helped expedite our time to market,” concludes Dadlani.
