CEO, I help the management to do the best job they can and I oversee all aspects of the business.

What is your company’s mission?

To transform audio content into word-for-word perfect text.

In 140 characters or less, tell us what your company does:

We make audio content useful by converting voice to perfect text using tech and crowd sourced transcribers

Tell us about your Azure based solution.

Azure has been the cornerstone around which all different parts of our technology come together. These parts include:

  • The web service which provides mobile devices connectivity
  • The client portal – this is where our customers login and can manage their audio recordings and transcriptions online
  • Our speech processing technology and finally,
  • The transcribers’ portal – this is where transcribers login and create transcription

How is Azure implemented in your solution?

Azure is a component in every part of our solution including Blob service, Azure SQL, Queue Service, hosting and Azure ACS (Access Control Service).

How did you get excited about Azure?

We got really excited about the functionality and scalability of Azure. It’s a fully managed platform that we could work with without having to worry about being able to integrate future technology considerations – Azure is agile and scalable.

What specific value are you getting from BizSpark beyond the technology?

BizSpark has been immensely supportive of TranscribeMe. Apart from the continuous support in tech, TranscribeMe was chosen as the winner of the Asia Pacific region scholarship funded by BizSpark and partners. Furthermore, the always-increasing partner offers, like SEOMOZ subscription, have been critical to our inbound marketing efforts.

What has been your biggest “aha” moment since founding your company?

To realize how big the market opportunity is for transcription ($10b market) and how we can build a really great business in this space.

What were the Azure features that prompted you to decide to build on Azure?

Azure is highly flexible and scalable. It’s an easy platform to manage and perhaps most important, it is a secure platform.

What advice do you have for companies that are thinking about building in the cloud?

Azure is one of the latest and the most advanced cloud solutions currently available. Along with the massive intellectual backing of Microsoft, it is hard to see why one wouldn’t give Azure a shot.

What is the one thing that you would like readers to take away about your Azure app?

Go for it. This may not be the most common platform to build on but we are confident that users will be impressed with Azure based result.
