Tell us who you are and your role in the company:

I am the Founder and CEO of the company.

What did you do before creating your company?

I worked in the entertainment industry and in international sales and marketing.

How do you feel being the most promising ‘Startup of the Day’ per Microsoft BizSpark?

We feel honored to be selected as the ‘Startup of the Day’. This is an exciting opportunity for theChanner to gain awareness and recognition for the team.

What is your company’s mission?

theChanner aims to bring you live Internet TV to your phone, taking part when it matters to you, whatever it is. We help broadcasters on the Internet, reach and monetize their mobile audience wherever they are, knowing about their viewers.

How did you get the idea for your company?

When first Wi-fi portable devices where going to market, I began to formulate theChanner concept: the Internet was going to be the easiest way for every kind of programmer to start and reach its audience.

Tell us about your funding history. Are you currently looking for funding? If so, how much?

Yes. $6M.

How many employees do you have? How many developers?

6 people. 3 of us in San Francisco and 3 in Barcelona. 4 developers.

Are you hiring?If yes, what are you hiring for and where?

Yes. Marketing and Networks/Streaming. San Francisco, CA.

Which platform are you building on?Why?

We are on iOS, Android and WindowsPhone7. It’s our goal to be available on as many os as possible so everyone can enjoy TV from their phone.

Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/Internet area?

Mobile TV advertising, data mining, data compression, streaming technologies.

What do you think about the BizSpark Program?

A good initiative. Necessary in a changing market where most of the business ideas are coming from start-ups.

Do you have any advice for young Software entrepreneurs?

Go ahead.

Who’s your role model?

A little of Gates (thx for make it affordable to everyone), Jobs (thx for showing people that wi-fi existed on the phone), Branson (thx for helping us believe that you can start in every industry you like), Brin and Page (thx for making it easier, sometimes too much), Hurley, Chen and Karim (thx for helping us show off), Zuckerberg (thx for helping people be someone), Dorsey, Williams, Stone (thx for believe in it).. and Amancio Ortega (thx for bringing Zara to the World starting from that little pajama’s store).

What’s the ONE THING you would like readers to take away from this interview?

There is no people with unique ideas, there is people believing and take the risk to develop an idea.
