Tell us who you are and your role in the company:
Co-founder and CEO.
What did you do before creating your company?
Entrepreneur. I was running my own Technical Documentation Company.
How do you feel being the most promising ‘Startup of the Day’ per Microsoft BizSpark?
It really feels great to be recognized for the work you do. Whether it is “The most innovative technology company of 2009” Award by WIT (Women in Technology) event, which CYNCZ won or being adjudged as most promising Startup of the day per Microsoft BizSpark, such recognition always motivate us to work even harder to make CYNCZ more successful. Such recognition shows us that we are moving in right direction.
What is your company’s mission?
CYNCZ’s mission is to make life easier by creating “self-updating” address book on all contact sources and devices, so that people have most up-to-date contact data on all the address books at all the time, which can be accessed on any device or address book any time.
How did you get the idea for your company?
During the Holiday season of 2008, when the founders were trying to find out mailing address of professional and personal contacts for sending holiday cards, they could not find a single address book that gave them most up-to-date contact information. Founders had to browse through multiple address books to find complete and most current contact information. There was also not tool or software which would automatically sync all address book and provide complete data on any address book or device they look into. This gave us the idea and we developed the prototype that worked and could do an “automatic 2-way” sync between address books.
Tell us about your funding history. Are you currently looking for funding? If so, how much?
CYNCZ is currently self-funded. CYNCZ is looking for equity funding of USD 200,000 for next round of Development, Operation and Marketing.

5 Employees and 3 Developers.
Are you hiring? If yes, what are you hiring and where?
Software Developers and Test Engineers. Hiring in India and US.
Which platform are you building on? Why?
Microsoft .Net, Silverlight, Azure.
Where do you see opportunities today in the Software/internet area?
Integrating social networks with emails, mobile devices. Create productivity solution for enterprises using social networks.
What do you think about the BizSpark Program?
It is absolutely fantastic for self-funded start-ups like CYNCZ. BizSpark Program provides tools and software which otherwise are not affordable for small start-ups.
Do you have any advice for young Software entrepreneurs?
Boot strap as much as you can. Keep solutions simple and solve for simple problems.

What’s the ONE THING you would like readers to take away from this interview?
Do not think simple solution of every simple problem exist in the market. Big companies are created on very simple ideas. You do not have to solve problems like putting man on Mars or solve for world hunger to create a viable company.
