Can you manage your Windows Datacenter Edition servers with System Center Essentials 2010

One of our partners build a 4 node Hyper-V cluster with Datacenter Edition and wants to use System Center Essentials 2010 to manage the Virtualization layer. As SCE 2010 can manage up to 50 Machines it is the ideal solution for his environment.

However According to the TechNet article (https://technet.microsoft.com/en-gb/library/bb422876.aspx) we only support Windows Server Standard and Enterprise Edition.

Our Product team confirmed to me that you can manage the Windows Datacenter Edition with SCE. The reason why it’s not on the supported list yet is because we are still finalizing the test. But they confirmed that there is no technical reason not to do it.
